According to Scrum, development teams should hold sprint planning meetings regularly. Usually, the panning meeting should be done within one day and divided into two parts. In the first part, product managers explain stories, define their priorities and make a story list to be finished in this sprint. In the second part, development teams decompose the stories into tasks.

Product planning meeting workflow

  1. Project managers prepare the meeting in advance and then inform others the specific time and place of the meeting.
  2. Product managers can divide the stories in advance and associate the stories that have be completed to projects in the current sprint.
  3. Product managers explain the stories to everyone. And all the people present at the meeting should listen carefully and give their own opinions.
  4. After explaining all the stories, an estimation of the workloads should be made and the priorities should be set based on the workloads of each stories.
  5. Adjust the stories associated to projects according to priorities and workload. Remove the unnecessary stories and associate new stories.

The outcome of planning meetings

Story list of Product is what needs to be done in planning meetings. Planning meetings is like the action to relate Stories in ZenTao.
